Many countries consider juvenile delinquency as social threats. Some people believe that parents should stay home and care more about their children, while others think that parents do not have solutions. I disagree that teenagers’ problems are due to lack of parenting. In this essay, I will discuss my reasons.
Simply blaming on working parents can be dangerous because it only simplifies problems and makes impossible to find realistic solutions. In general, the obligation of parenting is done before their children is ten years old. Now it should be done by schools because teenagers are more likely to be out of control in class. As education institutions, they should take more aggressive action because it is never late to correct behaviours of teenagers.
Actually, the life of real trouble makers is not dictated by their parents. They make troubles outside of the house and hide their wrong doings from their parents at home. They tend to act like a well behaved kid in front of parents to avoid getting attention when they actually do something troublesome. Spending time with parents might make them be more sophisticated. Then it will be hard to relate their problems to their parents in any ways.
Besides, even though nice parents are there for young teens, it does not mean that there will be no more issues on their acts. As they are teenagers, they need to socialise themselves. For them it is important not to just stay at home or school. They should diversify their activities and who they are associated with accordingly. If they spend most of their time with parents, they will not be sociable, and this will lead to another problem.
In conclusion, parents alone cannot solve problems that their children make. As the problems usually involve many school children, more adults and schools need to address it together. Now its solutions can be found neither from home nor from schools. |
