▶ Your Answer :
The given line graph demonstrates the
proportion of British people listening to radio and watching television within
24 hours in December 1992.
As can be seen clearly, people were engaged
more in radio in the morning, however, popularity of watching television
dominated that of radio in the afternoon, especially hours between 6pm and
midnight.
At the beginning of the research period at
6 o’clock in the morning, both radio listeners and TV viewers were below 10% of
the total population, who are older than four. Almost no TV viewer at 6am marked
just over 0%. Percentage of citizens listening to radio hit the peak around 9am
at just below 30%, and then the graph showed a negative trend with a few
fluctuations between 3pm and 5pm, and 10pm and 11pm. The peak times the largest
number of people watch television are hours from 4pm to 12am, after number of
viewers surged from 4pm and reached a peak around 8pm, nearly 50% of people
chose to spend time in front of television.
To sum up, radio and TV attracted citizen
aged over four depending on time of a day. In the morning, more people
listening to radio. However, after one o’clock in the afternoon, the number of
people engaged in TV overtook that of radio.
