Guidance from parents on how to spend young children’s free
time has been a topical issue these days. There are valid arguments on both
sides (both sides 라는 표현을 해주셨는데, 논제 없이 이 문단만을 보면 반대편 입장은 무엇인지 전혀 파악할 수 없는 문제점이 생깁니다. 그러므로 그 반대편의 주장이 무엇인지, 즉 스스로 알아서 해야 한다~의 뉘앙스를 가진 문장도 넣어주셔야 해요.), which I will discuss in this essay.
On one
hand, some people feel that children should be allowed to decide to do what
kind of activities to do in their free time simply because it is their free
time. For example, children will do what intrigues them, ranging from playing
video games with peers to studying on the academic subjects they are interested
in, and this will help children them understand on how to manage their own free time
accordingly. Time management is critical in today’s society. Through this
process, young people will learn how to occupy their own time more efficiently
and effectively.
On the
other hand, it is often believed that parents should encourage their kids to
participate in a group activity with their peers, such as football, basketball
and baseball. The primary reason for this is that youngsters will learn valuable
skills, from how to communicate with their team and resolve a conflict with
team members gracefully when there is a disagreement, to team building, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, which can be a great preparation for
adulthood in both academic and business career later in life. Furthermore, one
of the great advantages by doing outdoor and indoor activities with a group of
people is that this will help improve youngsters intelligence and physical
development at an important stage. In order to make this process successful,
parents should find out activities their own child might be interested in so
that children will learn those skills indirectly doing group activities.
To conclude,
I believe that the guidance and support from parents plays a significant role
in helping children’s development at an early stage. Thus parents Parents should provide a
wide range of activities to find out where their own child’s interest belong. |
