Tests and examinations are a central feature of school systems in many countries. Do you think the educational benefits of testing outweigh any disadvantages? |

It is commonly argued that the assessment in school is inevitable to evaluate students’ knowledge which they had been taught throughout a semester. However, some people say that examinations do not give any benefits to children. Although tests have lots of advantages and disadvantages at the same time, I would like to opine that the negative effects far overweigh the positive impacts. Some research has shown that there is no better way to appraise students than the exam as it is normally considered the most effective method. By observing the average score of the evaluation, students are able to check their education level objectively and they might realize which subjects needed to be improved more than others to enhance their knowledge. Furthermore, children can be motivated by the competition and their rival (여기의 경우 틀린 건 절대 아닌데, 굳이 라이벌이라고 하기보다는 그냥 peer 정도로 가는 게 무난해보이긴 합니다.) who has the similar score compared to theirs. Nonetheless, I truly believe that the test system brings innumerable detrimental effects on adolescents’ lives. One reason is that, it may invite (invite는 긍정, 중립의 문맥에서만 쓰이기 때문에 여기의 경우는 적절하지 않습니다.) the excessive competition among students. Even though many people say that children should learn the way to cooperate with each other, exams basically make friends compete. If people do not know how to help and take care of other individuals/people 중 하나 In conclusion, as far as I am concerned |
