Some people believe that the government should regulate the amount of violence in films and on television to reduce the rate of violent crime in community. I agree with this perspective because this idea has their own justifications that it help public to find a way of decreasing crime rate.
To begin with, it is clear that there are many criminals who affected by violent play from mass media. Some of them have reported that those videos and images make their criminal intentions more encouraged. Un like in the past, digital sources like online games and social media websites also provide some aggressive scenes that have possibilities to stimulate criminals.
Those criminals are more easy to inspired by previous crimes and violent visuality. It is undeniable fact that massive copy cat crimes occurred because of brutal actions and detailed crime skills from media.
Moreover, protecting children viewer is more important factor that why governments should regulate the crime scenes in media. It is absolutely harmful them to watch violent TV programs and movies for their emotional development. For example, some of motorcycle gangs in Korea, commented that they were exposed to violent TV shows when they were teenagers. For teenagers, mass media affect them strongly since they tend to mimic the actions and movements from tv shows and movies especially when their favourite pop-stars and celebrities on it.
In conclusion, it is evident that some visual work in movies and TV should be considered significant influence that they have because they allow some possible criminals and children to copy their scenes and make bad mistakes. |
