Your Answer ▼ Of late, one of the most significant discussions has been urban traffic . Regarding this issue, if, on the one hand, it can be said that there are a range of benefits when governments limit the use cars in large cities, it can also be said that the drawbacks of this policy should not be ignored. The purpose of this essay is to examine both viewpoints with an understandable conclusion. There are those with a belief that banning cars for city inhabitants is pretty positive in many aspects. The primary ground that is clear to see behind their argument is that more and more people living in the 21st century are finding it increasingly possible for them to live peacefully and safely in urban areas when cars are banned, provided that they do not need to worry about car accidents anymore. Another crucial element why they believe the contention is that this policy is seen as a great contributory factor in boosting the use of public transport. The most compelling evidence of this we cannot overlook is that commuters cannot use their own cars and they cannot walk to their workplace, thus, they should make use of public transport.
From the other standpoint, others are not content with the aforementioned benefits; they insist that this policy is not only negative but also even disadvantageous. Primarily, anyone can see that banning cars is associated with the invasion of privacy. Such being the case, it is no exaggeration to say that this policy may look wise, yet, it surely disturbs one’s own privacy. What is also worth noticing is that people engaging in car vehicle industries are considered to lose their ground for making a living. From the point of view, it follows that quite many people living in large cities lose their jobs and this could be a social problem. Without going in circle, I am inclined to be of the same opinion that governments need to make a right decision considering people’s opinion.
