It is a common belief that teaching Science and Technology in school is more important than History. However, I strongly believe that History is an essential subject, which relates to one's identity and culture, schools have to focus more on History than Science and Technology.
It is true that people are living in a modern, fast-changing world. This leads people to depend more on new technology and there is no doubt that machines do a majority of work instead of a human. Naturally, interest in science and technology is rising nowadays. Many schools' curriculum focuses more on technology-related subjects, such as computer class and robot class. Many experts anticipate teaching technology will give students more practical skill which can be used in the future workplace. In addition, it is a common thought that working in science and technology fields earns a high salary than other parts of industries.
Nevertheless, I support the idea that the history subject needs to be treated more seriously than science and technology subject. A majority of people worries that the importance of history lesson becomes receded due to the technology-focused trend. They insist that history can teach us how to predict our future. By learning the past can mean many things in our lives. Furthermore, as learning about the country and their history, it helps to build one's identity and also guides how to respect other cultures too. For these reasons, many people believe that school has to focus on teaching history than teaching how to operate machines or do computers.
To conclude, in spite of technology has become an essential part of human's life, history must be dealt with more serious attitude since it implies not only facts that happened a long time ago, but also learn oneself and others. I firmly believe that learning history in school can be related to the thing that is very crucial. Therefore, history subject is more necessary than science and technology subject in school.
