The economic costs of restoring the environment when companies do not dispose of waste properly often have to come out of taxes. Furthermore, it is well known that with serious health problems. India is a very good example, Manufacturing companies that produce large amounts of pollution have grown both in number and size in India since the 1900s. Unfortunately, they have not made the same effort to protect the environment as they have to make profits. Thus, pollution in India cause 20 million new cases of asthma and costs 80 billion dollars to repair environmental damage annually.
However, there are solutions to this problem. One of the ways to deter businesses from polluting is to impose taxes that help to protect the environment. If businesses are asked to pay huge budget for recovering pollution that they made, businesses will ensure that their activities are less harmful to the natural world. Meanwhile, the government can use these funds to implement cleanup and protection programs. In the UK, for instance, a green tax was imposed on landfill companies based on their intake of rubbish since decomposing waste can pollute the ground and produce methane. This additional cost led to decrease waste coming to landfill and increase recycle. Furthermore, it provided the government with funds for cleaning up landfills and for preventing further environmental damage.
To sum up, it is clear that when businesses neglect the responsibility about nature, the nations has economic damage and public problems. Nevertheless, this issue can be resolved with imposing more tax by government.
