The chart illustrates the results of a survey on the purpose of travel
abroad between 1994 and 1998, and the line graph describes the destinations
that were divided in three categories over the same period.
Overall, the number of people who traveled abroad gradually increased,
and western Europe always dominated than the other two categories.
The most significant reason that people travel was all the time for holiday,
and the number was more than half that became 20,700 people in 1998. Despite
the gradual upward trend, only it dropped in 1995. However, the purpose of
business increased from 3,155 people in 1994 to 3,188 people in 1995, whereas
other purposes went down slightly. Except for other reasons, other items showed
a similar increase trend to the total result.
During this period, western Europe always dominated the most visited place.
Even though it dropped to around 17,000 in 1995, it surged more than 20,000 and
scored more or less 25,000 in 1998. Meanwhile, North America which showed an
upward trend and other areas which maintained a similar trend were less than
