It is true that people benefit from computers that allows by allowing them to work and to study at home. I think that this has both positive and negative consequences in equal measure.
There are benefits of working and studying at home thanks to computers. One of the advantages of this is that people can make a living and perform daily tasks in any situations such as the Covid 19. For example, since the outbreak of the infectious disease, going outside and staying in public places have been highly restricted. However, computers have allowed people to make money and to carry out daily assignments. In spite of school closures, students have been were able to be educated on computers. Another advantage of working remotely is the technological development, working flexible hours at home is being available and being beneficial to working parents. This is because working on PCs allows parents to take care of their child, to watch over their studying, and to do household chores.
On the other hand, computers may have negative effects on the quality of life and any possible exposure to web content which is unhelpful and violent might be bad when children use it. Remote work using a computer may affect the work and life balance because it may be difficult for employees with a child to separate their lives from taking responsibilities in the same place. This may result in distracting their jobs and reducing work productivity/ efficiency. In addition to this, there may be a chance to be exposed to web contents such as random pop-ups with violent and harmful images, which may tempt children to click and visit the web site that is inappropriate to them. So people have to watch over their children while they performing work assignments on the computer.
In conclusion, it is evident that computers are advantageous to our lives, but it is also influences us negatively. |
