Your Answer ▼ In my opinion, for those aiming for jobs suck such as a chef or baker, studying their occupations during their high school time is indeed more meaningful than studying regular subjects, but only to some extent. There are several reasons why I think this way.First things first, education for students can not be done by forcing them to study particular subjects, especially if those are irrelevant to what students are interested in. For instance, South Korea is renowned for its intensive high school education, and whilst most of the subjects are mandatory, very few students find it interesting. As a result, whilst Korean students rank at the top in regards of academic skills, their satisfaction index is the lowest, amongst most countries. What’s more, they tend to wander after high school graduation, looking for what they should do and what they’re interested in, albeit their academic abilities. However, there are some kind of knowledge that is considered as something an adult must know. For example, however culinarily skilful skillful the chef is, if he can’t understand an ordinary analogy used to express the taste of the food, it could hinder the communication between the chef and ts the customer. Therefore, I firmly believe that there is a need for students to study mandatory level of education, but not anymore. |
