Your Answer ▼ Reading and telling stories are greatly helpful to children to get ideas and develop imagination. It is hotly debated whether parents should spend time to read reading and telling stories to their children or children should read on their own through media outlets such as books and the Internet. Between the two opinions, I think wither either of them have strength. However I am personally in favour of the former.
Firstly, people who think it is good for parents to read books and telling stories believe children can bond with their parents' love directly by spending time with each other. Therefore they will maintain good relationship with their elders even after reaching their adulthoods.
Conversely, others claim it has more benefits to give chances to kids reading books by themselves from various ways such as books and the Internet. These people says the children described above would have more sense of independence because they can search what they want to read and curious have curiosity about on their own.
Admittedly, there are beneficial points for independent reading, but children are still children. The relationship between children and parents is maintained even when they become adults, (문장을 끊어주세요) accordingly forming good family relationship when the kids are young is very important. Interactive reading also enable children to ask question about the article and share what they think about each other. Children will grow up loving reading with these good memories.
In summary, nevertheless reading on their own will able to improve their independence skills, reading with parents has more strong points that it is either enables children to develop the good fellowship with their elders and the importance and love of reading.
