With the development of society, students can get a variety of sources
about information, so some people think that the role of teachers has become diminished.
However, I do not agree with this perspective.
The most significant factor that people should consider is that teachers
have played a wider role now than in the past. Even though students have received
some knowledge through various media, this information would be wrong and
futile sometimes. In this situation, teachers have had acted on their real
guide for not only students’ education, but also their life. Many students
have had certain goals in mind while having uncertainty whether it is in line
with the future or not. Because their parents have been always busy to work,
students need to get specific advice from teachers who are the closest adult in
students’ life. That is the reason why many teachers have already become a
mentor for their students.
Another salient part is that teachers can benefit students’ health
issues. It is true that most adolescents tend to trust the peer group more than
their parents, thus the bond between parents and children would worsen. Apart
from parents, teachers are only the ones who can help children to maintain
their physical and mental health. In reality, teachers have suggested easy
working out with children, and they have tried to be interested in students’
mental status. Through these attempts, students can decrease their
psychological issues like depression, frustration or anxiety, all of which are
originated from severe pressure about study, and they can be healthier.
In conclusion, I think that despite many kinds of information sources,
students are still required for teachers to set up the right life goals and get
psychological and physical impacts. |
