The bar graph shows the percentage of the profits which was made by viewers in US cinema, according to seven different movie genres in 1995, 2000, and 2005 as a percentage of the total earning.
Overall, it is clear that all genres fluctuated over the 10-year period. Among them, the most popular genre was comedy and was followed by drama and action. In contrast, there were slight profits in thriller, musicals, and animation.
Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that the only genre, which gradually increased, was comedy. Drama, on the other hand, peaked at roughly 30 percent of the profits in 1995, but in 2005, that nearly halved to 15 percent in 2005. The most interesting thing is that when it comes to genres of adventure, the percentage of the profits dramatically surged from 10 percent in 2000 to approximately 25 percent in 2005. In case of genre of action, the percentage of the profits insignificantly decreased between more than 15 percent in 1995 and less than 15 percent in 2005. The three genres, which are thriller, musicals, and animation, accounted for small portion of the total earnings. |
