Your Answer ▼ There is a debate over the students’ efficiency of learning between through teachers and via other media sources like the Internet (인터넷은 고유명사이므로 대문자 시작이고, 단독으로 쓰일 때에는 무조건 the 가 붙는다고 보시면 됩니다. 다른데에도 다 바꿔주세요!) internet and television. In my point of view, it is not easy to find a suitable match for teachers in terms of the area around teaching to students. First of all, learning from teachers have strong points on the theme of learning. Teachers are trained professionals who can specify the right subject to teach, and how to make the best result through proper teaching techniques. Meanwhile, internet and television are good sources of learning with no direction. If students are just being abandoned in the big forest of information without proper guide like parents or teachers, they might get lost. Secondly, in the area of learning, mutual exchange of thinking and opinion is crucial. Thus, students can acquire knowledges more efficiently via sharing thoughts and conducting discussions at classrooms with peer groups upon the guide of teachers. This is the reason why many teachers are operating discussion classes for the better outcome on the learning of students learning. In this regard, single-sided transmission of knowledge through media has clear limits. Lastly, on the media like internet and television, some learning sources are not filtered by experts. For example, a complicated movie that has some violent scenes that actually tries to deliver the harmful effects of violence can pose a wrong implication to students that the violence is good when the true meaning of the movie is not properly explained by teachers. Thus, learning through teachers has a strong point that, the learning materials can be well filtered in a good way to the subject of class. To sum up, teachers can direct the way of learning knowledges through their expertise while internet and televisions can only provide an one-way learning. Adding to that, with teachers, learning materials can be properly managed in a good way for learning. Thus, I highly believe that learing through teachers is the best option we have.
