Some people believe that students should not reflect teachers' political and social mindset in the classroom. However, there are others that it is beneficial for students to be given a variety of opinions. This essay will handle two adverse controversy viewpoints when it comes to implications for students to receive personal opinions from teachers.
Some people posit that it is one of the best ways to learn the mature teachers' thoughts toward social and political topics. There are several reasons for that. First of all, almost all immature students do not pay much attention to political and social issues. For instance, in South Korea, the percentage of voters under 30 in an election has been lower than the past, which means they do not care about political issues. By hearing teachers' opinions, they would take such problems seriously and deeply. Therefore, society would enhance in regard to politics and social development in a long term. Second of all, people's viewpoints are all different. When students listen to teachers' opinions selectively, it would be the best way to be taught different respecitve views of the same issue.
Nevertheless, there are others who maintain that it would be more likely that students could reflect all thoughtsof teachers blindly, which means it could be detrimental repercussions in many ways. Students who do not know well about social and political issues are likely to accept all perspectives that teachers provide. It could cause serious problems such as a brainwashing. Students have a tendency of accepting everything they say if they think the speakers are respectable. If the speakers' talk includes something insulting or rotten, that would affect students' perspective readily.
I am of the opinion that teachers should not postulate their own thoughts when it comes to controversy social and political issues. It would be harmful for students to listen to someone's own perspecitve, which is possibly prejudiced. |
