Discussion on how governments should use
their budget is one of the most serious debates in many countries. Concerning sports
and arts, some people believe governments should spend money for children and teenagers
in school, while others think professional events should be their priority. As
I agree with the former, this essay will suggest reasons why governments have
to focus on promoting sports and art in school.
First, governments should pay money in school
instead of professional events because investing in school programs would eventually
result in the growth of professional sports and art. If a government uses lots
of money for professional sports and art, the effect of the money spent will
only remain in that specific moment. People might be able to enjoy the
excitement and amusement of those events but it cannot go further than that. On
the other hand, if a government decides to spend its budget for sports and art
programs in school, students would feel much familiar with sports and art. They
will learn how to use sports and art for their happiness, and some of them
would even commit themselves to the world of professionals. Some students will become
professional sports players or artists, some will organize such events, some
will sponsor the events. Then the government would not need to spend its budget
for professional events. Likewise, when the government uses money for schools,
it will naturally cause benefits to professionals.
In addition, encouraging sports and art in
school can make people have creative thoughts while professional sports and art
cannot involve such effect. These days, creativity is an important trait to
people because we are living in a society that changes rapidly, and enhancing
one’s creativity is very essential. Under this circumstance, promoting sports
and art in school can help people to live a successful life in this society. Since
sports let people refresh themselves and have a fresh start, it can help to
have creative thoughts. Also, since art teach students to express themselves in
a different way, it will stimulate students’ creativity. However, this does not
happen when most of the people are standing still to watch sports and art events.
They cannot bring as much creativity as school programs.
To conclude, governments should spent their
money to schools and promote sports and art to students, instead of sponsoring the
professionals. This is because encouraging sports and art in school will result
in the growth of professional events, and also increased creativity of people.
