Some countries has a comparetively large proportion of young adults nowadays. This situation could be some drawbacks, but I believe that this is much more beneficial to the society.
First of all, young adults are the most important labor force, and they support the economy of the society. They provide high quality labor compared to other generation, which is necessary for the economic growth. It is almost impossible to continue the economic growth without enough labor force nowadays. Look at the example of Japan, they have been going through a hard time from a few decades ago, because the population of elderly people is too high, but number of the young adults are not enough.
Second, the population of young adults is very important for the future economic growth. The young adults are in the age range which they can produce children. That means they have the potential to produce the future labor force for the society. The population cliff is one of the most serious problems all around the world today. Countries which are short of labor force are not considered to develop its economy in the future. However, if the country has enough young adults population, there is high possibility of enough labor force in the future. In Korea, there were baby-boom just after the Korean war, and the baby-boomer generation created another baby-boom when they became parents providing plenty of labor force for the country again.
In conclusion, I argue that because young adults are the important labor force in the society, a large population of them is positive rather than negative for the economy of the society.
