The line graph shows
the changes that happened in three different categories of crime in Newport
city centre from 2003 to 2012.
Overall, it is clear
that the rates of both car theft and robbery had a similar trend, which remained
almost stable, while the number of burglary plummeted during the period in
question.
Looking at the line
graph more closely, one can see that in case of robbery, which was theft from
the person, the rate always accounted for the lowest portion. The most
interesting thing is that the number of burglary in 2004 peaked at the highest number,
at around 3,800 and that markedly dropped by approximately 1,200 in 2008. One
of the most noticeable features is that car theft figure continued to show a similar
number, however, that surpassed (surpassed 는 기본적으로 따라'잡' 는 대상이 어느정도 능동성을 가지고 이루어져야 하는데, 여기의 경우 theft 는 그냥 비슷비슷하게 달리고 있는데 buglary 가 혼자 열심히 달리다가 지쳐 쓰러진 거라, 그렇게 자연스럽다고 보기 어렵습니다. 그냥 ~보다 높아졌다 정도로만 적어주시면 돼요.) the number of incidents of burglary between
2006 and 2007. In the last year in question, car theft figure was almost (almost 는 두 배 이하일 때 쓰입니다. 지금의 경우 두 배 이상이므로 적절하지 않고요.) doubled
the number of burglary, at roughly 3,100 and less than 1,500, respectively. |
