The bar chart
depicts a survey about how coffee and tea purchase and consuming
habits were different in the last 4 weeks in five Australian cities (Sydney,
Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart). Overall, it is clear that the
proportion of people having gone to a café for coffee or tea was highest among
all options in all cities apart from Adelaide, while the least preferred activity was buying
fresh coffee. Also, we can see that the proportion of people having bought
instant coffee was higher than fresh coffee in all cities.
Looking at the
chart in more details, we can see that Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart showed
similar patterns because, in these cities, the most popular activity was going
to a café to drink coffee or tea, which accounted for over 60%, and this
proportion overweighed that of buying fresh or tea by a large difference.
Namely, the percentage of people who chose fresh coffee stood at 43% in Sydney,
followed by 41% in Melbourne and 38% in Hobart.
On the other hand,
Brisbane and Adelaide showed the opposite trend. The proportion of people who
went to a café and who bought instant coffee was similar, representing around
one-half. Interestingly, in two countries, fresh coffees were was chosen by people
just under 35%. |
