The internet has brought about a new freedom of information and so will reduce the gap between more developed and less developed countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Some believe that a new freedom of information has been brought by the internet. However, it is hard to say that this technology will probably narrow down the gap between the countries which has developed more and less. This paper will provide some reasons.?
In less developed countries, it is true that many people cannot afford to use the internet as it is a new technology and requires a certain amount of money to install and maintain. If the internet is not generalised in public, individuals who want to use should spend more money than in more developed countries. Due to this limitation, some cointries still have no proper access to the internet and therefore, still not close as much as it is expected among the countries.?
Even though there is a limitation to access the internet, people who are able to use can recieve more information through it, in developed countries. As these people go to community where they belong to, they can share some information with others. Eventually, perhaps it would reduce the gap between countries.
However, with limited accessibility, it is hard to reduce the gap due to its speed. In some countries, although there is the internet, sometimes it is too slow to use as it is not developed basically. To make it work better, a large amoumt of money should be spent on development.?
To sum up, despite the advantage of the internet, its accessibility, affordability and speed can impede to reduce the gap between less developed countries and more developed countrie.
