It is quite common these days for universities to provide equal chance for male and female students in every courses; however, others do not think that is not a good idea in regards of education in their communities. From my point of view, women have to receive fairly as many opportunities as schools offer for male students.
The reasons for this unfair mind may involve the traditional thought that woman have a lot of spiritual constraints in the fields that require complex engineering or calculation so that they do better choose another majors which need less technical skills such as accounting or business. In the matter of fact, women have been showing their talents in every areas including technical research, mechanical engineering, or chemical study which are generally thought to belong to men for the last several decades. In chemical industry, for example, Marry Currie, a female chemical engineer, discovered groups of radioactive materials which are currently used for electricity generation by nuclear power. Besides, Bessie Coleman, a first African American woman pilot, overcame a lot of difficulties in her life to become an outstanding pilot in American history. Bessie Coleman also has been influencing young generations by her way of thinking, determination to success, positive attitudes toward the poor.
In addition, there are common thought that woman do better stay at home to do house works instead of going to school for higher education. However, in terms of human right, women are as important as men in terms of educating for the next generation in every society. Mothers with high education will have better conditions to raise their children into good members of society. It means that they will know better how to prevent their kids from some difficulties such as sexual violation, sexual discrimination, or physical confrontation which usually happen in today community.
In conclusion, it is convinced that universities should give female students as same regulation as the schools do with male students so that women can have better opportunities to contribute for their world. |
