More and more people have enjoyed traveling abroad, so many nations
think that international tourism is detrimental to locals and places. In this
essay, I will describe the reason for this symptom and the proper measure to
solve this.
The most crucial reason that countries are reluctant to open their
cultural places to foreign travelers is to protect them. It cannot be denied
that many travelers have been trying to draw some pictures or write their names
on relics to verify just they visit those places or some of them would break
some historic assets or demolish important monuments accidentally. Furthermore,
many careless travelers are not likely to consider local habits and manners;
thus, they might make a fault and would be very rude to locals. Through these
situations, countries have been dealing with restoration of their cultural
assets and the public is complaining to travelers.
To improve these situations, the government and foreign travelers should
make an effort together. Foremost, the government has to make more rigorous
rules for visitors. In many countries that have had valuable cultural art pieces
such as France, England or Spain, all tourists are strictly prohibited to be
close to those ones, and they always try to protect their precious masterpieces
with security guards and cameras to catch unintended accidents. Moreover,
tourists always have to keep in mind fundamental rules to respect countries’
own culture. Additionally, before heading to another country, visitors should
study local custom and unique manner not to be rude.
In conclusion, I believe that even though some nations have had negative
ideas on international tourism that causes the damage of cultural things and bad
effects on local people, it could be improved with forced rules and travelers’ habits
and attitudes. |
