▶ Your Answer :
Children’s upbringing has been the main concern of parenthood for a long time. There are several factors which affect such. Of those, it has been argued that the lack of proximity within family members and influence over the media are the most predominant causes of children’s problems.
Because of the unstable economy nowadays, it is common to see both parents of children working full-time in most cases. This often leads to parents having less time to spend with their children. Even if they get a chance to have spare time, they would probably prefer to take a rest after having a hard day at work. In return, children would get more free time without sharing it with their parents. Here the media take the missing part. Over a century, technology has contributed the world with a great deal of convenience. As a result, the means of communications has increased in numbers. Children are more influenced by the media, such as the internet, television, etc., which are not screened, than by their parents.
Juveniles must be under supervision before they get matured enough to make their own decisions. It is true that children can be educated from schools, but they need to be taken care of after school as well. If parents do not invest their time on communicating with their children, they would have no idea what their children have in their minds. In order to improve this situation, governments and companies should come up with better policies. For example, governments can offer tax exemption for ones with children, while companies provide flexible working hour to employees who are raising minors.
Although children’s problems have been issues all along the ages, they can be solved with the effort of society, especially with the effort of parents, spending more time with their own children.
