In the recent days, some people believe
that marketing through social media is not the effective way to promote their
sales. However, A recent study shows that it's much more beneficial to make a
use of social media to affect what people consume. I'm a strong advocate of
this view with social media and the reasons for this will be outlined in this
essay.
Firstly, the number of people using social
media has significantly increased due to the introduction of smartphone since
2010. The invention of the smartphone has led people to be more closely
connected with their friends on social media. As a result, in terms of consumption,
people tend to follow new trends by buying more often what they're seen from
people who are befriended with on social media such as Facebook, Instagram,
etc. A recent study conducted in 2018 by Korea Consumer's Associate indicates
that people who are regularly provided information about a certain product from
their friends on Facebook are prone to purchase the product that was constantly
displayed on their friend’s feeds. It's because people become more familiar
with it and much less relucntant to buy it.
Not only that, nowdays the advancement of
data science allows it possible to analyze personal preference by the number of
clicking times and target people with goods that suits perfectly for their
preference. Accordingly, it is far more useful way for marketers to approach
people broadly through social media with information technology so as to
increase their sales. For example, if marketers can find a certain group of
people who post a lot on their social media with clothes made by a particular brand,
the chance gets much higher to attract their attention by arranging its
matching brand's merchandise on the first advertisement page. Thereby, not only
essencially it can help to boost sale's figure from loyal consumers but also it
can give good impression to potencial customers.
To sum up, there are a lot of ways for
marketers to influence consumer's choices. However; as the paragraphs above
discussed, the method of marketing through social media can be way more
advantageous because of easy accessibility to their friends and developed
information technology. Nevertheless, marketers should never stop coming up
with more creative ways to improve their marketing sources. |
