In the present age, whether homeschooling provides more benefits than public education has sparked much debate. Some people assert that teaching at home provides children with more tailored education, whereas many others argue that public schools should (얘가 안 들어가면 의미가 완전 달라집니다. 무조건 넣어주셔야 해요.) teach not only general knowledge required at a certain age but also essential social skills that are fundamental to live in society. While acknowledging some advantages of homeschooling, I contend that going to school brings greater advantages to a child’s development. Convincing arguments can be made that learning at schools offers children opportunities to have a barrage of valuable learning experience. To start with, students at school study in a classroom with a group of classmates, which enables them to have daily interaction with others; therefore, children can foster their communication skills and develop their personality by hanging out with other students of the same age group. Moreover, children can learn how to work in a team, which is one of the most important quality at workplace. For instance, students participating in a club activity spend lots of time with their clubmates and learn to pursue a common goal in collaboration with others. Lastly, children can practice a problem-solving skills at school, learning to resolve conflicts that arise between friends. All these experiences are indispensable life lessons and play a great role in forming a balanced personality. Admittedly, with the help of the advanced information technology, homeschooling has become more resourceful and effective, delivering better quality education that is designed for each child. Homeschooling teachers can easily access the latest information of various formats and utilise myriad teaching materials available on the internet (인터넷은 고유명사이므로, 대문자 시작입니다.) to suit the child’s specific needs. Even so, this way of learning significantly increases the possibility for a child to be isolated and stuck in its small world. Consequently, it can lead the child to face difficulties in having relationships with people of different ethnic or socio-economic backgrounds in society. In summary, I would concede that homeschooling may provide better quality education that is perfectly matched to a child. Despite that, learning with other students at school bolsters child’s comprehensive development. Overall, I am convinced that children can better learn at schools.
