Balance between working and resting is very important to motivate oneself to succeed at work without burnout. Some people argue that hanging out with co-workers has many benefits, while others insist that it is not a good idea not to separate work from private life. Personally, I think setting a boundary between work and private life is crucial because of a regarding person’s mental health and work efficiency. Some people assert that it benefits people to socializing with colleagues after the working hours benefits people because it gives opportunities to build a professional network. By doing so, they can share their work experience and may have a chance to meet other professionals in their field. Such experience may give them an opportunity to improve their career. For example, by the connection they have built up, they could can have a chance to get a promotion or land a better job. Others opine that socializing with coworkers is no good and waste of time because they believe employee need time to spend on themselves to be more productive at work. A study from Harvard demonstrates that people who separated their work and private life are likely to be more successful in the workplace. I personally agree with this statement because not all the coworkers have good relationships with each other. For them, socializing with a team can be stressful. Moreover, it might decrease their morale in the workplace, decline a declining work efficiency, and therefore, increase increasing a chance to have a work turnover. Given the fact, socializing with a team is not always seems like a good idea. In conclusion, even though some people proclaim that employee should spend time with a team aside from the workplace, I think socializing with a team is not always beneficial for them because it might decrease their productivity and might lead to giving up their job. |
