Nowadays the way many people interact
with each other has changed because of technology. In what ways has technology
affected the types of relationships people make? Has this become a positive or
negative development?
Nowadays, the way of communication among
people has been changed due to the development of technology. This phenomenon
is pervasive and has effects on relationships among people in various ways. I
will write this essay concerning how technology affects the way of interacting
with other people and result that it can cause.
Firstly, it is obvious that as technology
has progressed, the way of interaction among people is dramatically changing.
For example, when people want to keep in touch with acquaintances who live in
the far distance, they can easily communicate with friends using various
channels like Facebook or Kakaotalk without any charge. In particular,
nowadays, because of COVID 19, this method is rapidly extensive all over the
world. As quarantine has increased, people cannot go outside, so they depend on
more social networking services to interact with others.
However, this phenomenon will play a
detrimental role in the way of communication because it is likely to lack
compassion among people. Many professionals posit that it is crucial for people
to communicate in person since interacting with others does not mean only
exchanging words or opinions. When people communicate with others, they not
only talk to each other but also look at others’ gestures and facial
expressions to check their emotions. In this way, people can vary and control
their way of interaction, so they can understand and empathize with others.
Therefore, experts insist that online communication among people can have a
negative effect on our relationship in the long run because it is difficult for
people to check nonverbal factors.
In conclusion, I assert that although
people can keep in touch with others easily online thanks to the development of
technology, this way of interaction can affect negatively our relationship
because we cannot understand and empathize others.
