(Answer)
There are some
people attest that school should give more importance on teaching domestic
history for its younger students
rather than world history. From my perspective, I fully support the opinion
stated above based on the serious consideration on the level of development and
efficiency of leaning of the students in their early grade
of school life.
It is certain
that the children who just started their school life are not fully developed
their sense about understanding the society and building
relationship with their surroundings and people outside their home and family.
Since they are still being intimating with the culture
and names of land, town, various objects and people surround them within small
physical and psychological range, putting more time on studying huge scale of history
in the curriculum will confuse the learners.
When it comes to
the efficiency and motivating, it is common that every learning materials and
courses starts from small and little things that can easily
be grasped in their initial stage and gradually goes to deepened and complicated process or knowledge in order to alleviate
huddles and thresholds on studying process and enhance efficiency on delivering
knowledge to people. This step-by-step process is perfectly suitable for
history educating for schoolchildren. Learning about intimate and familiar
things that they easily can visit, appreciate and touch will help them to
understand the concept of history and boost the interesting on it.
Consequently, the interest which cultivated from intimate things can lead them
to start world history spontaneously as the students grow by.
To reiterate, since
the children who just started learning history are not fully ready yet to absorb vast scale of information about
world's chronological record and apply it in their lives,
teaching local history which tells about their intimate region and people
should be prioritized.
