There is disagreement regarding the issue of whether punishment is necessary to help children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. The main point of contention is related to appropriate of punishment, but personally, I believe that punishing children who especially an early age should be prohibited because they’re not always work at behaviour modification.
In most cases, do not punishing children and lead them tenderly are most popular method of education in these days. This is because prevent from punishment means that children can thinking and playing without any limitations from strict rules, then they can learn the difference between right and wrong themselves. For example, in the past Korean educational field usually using punishment for teaching children, but there were no remarkable effects on the crime rate. Also children’s self confidence are built at an early age, punishment which are too early and rough remain negative affect, so make them more confused to take right or wrong decision. As a result, educate children without punishment is the most appropriate relationship between parent and their child. This shows that punishing children should not be allowed in the majority of circumstances.
In contrast, it is true that allowing punishment to teach children can make adults easy and safe. This is because harsh education regulations that restrict children will prevent rebellion and argument. For example, teachers who work in these days lost their dignity from the punishing prohibited rules, so it make harder to lead them than past. This shows that limiting some behaviours through punishment can increase teacher’s class-wide control.
In conclusion, using punishment to teach children is a contentious topic because there are opinions that support and oppose this basic idea. However, I personally believe that adults should not punishing children unless it is absolutely necessary. (302 words) |
