With the increase of desire regarding the transparency of information from the public, delivering detailed descriptions on crimes have become a social issue in this society. Some people argue that this system that lets people easily find the whole stories of crimes brings about negative effects. Personally, I agree with this opinion, and will address the reasons in this essay.
Firstly, unfiltered information to public about crimes can result in secondary and imitated crimes. By the current media system which broadcasts the procedures in courts, many people are able to access criminals and the way that they committed crimes as well as it would encourage the public to have some interests in crimes. In this regard, it is easily observed that a number of crimes which are similar patterns with previous ones have occurred. To prevent society from secondary crimes and protect it, it is necessary for the media to be banned to give detailed information of crimes.
Moreover, broadcasting 100% facts about crimes can cause negative impacts on the children by violent crime scenes. As they tend to follow violent behaviors due to the lack of a sense of judgement, it can lead to bad consequences which can prevent them from building the right personalities. In this environment where there are no restrictions to control crime’s contents, youngsters are more likely to have curiosity about crimes, also teen’s crimes can be more increased.
To sum up, there is a disagreement issue concerning whether giving detailed descriptions on crimes though the media have bad effects. Personally, I believe that the media should be restricted to control broadcasting detailed information which can lead to negative effects on society. (words 277, 43mins)
