Q.
Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
A.
When people talk about the things that can be enjoyed regardless of culture and ages, music is always mentioned. With regards to this, I strongly believe music can be considered as a tool of bonding. This essay will discuss about my point of view on this.
As the number of multicultural countries is increasing, there are a lot of cultures within same country. In this diversity, it can lead to a cultural difference and there is no doubt that it is somewhat hard to overcome. However, these problems are often solved by music. First of all, even though language of the songs is different, they can feel the sound of song. Furthermore, as technology improves, we can listen other countries’ music anytime and anywhere. For instance, a Korean music group is ranked at the top of the Billboard chart. This means that the majority of people enjoy music regardless of cultures and even language.
Not only culture, music is also helpful to overcome a generation gap. Of course, it’s hard to deny that the preference of music can be different depending on the ages. However, music is one of the good ways to break a generation gap. For example, for some reason, old songs are all the rage in Korea. As old songs, which many older generation likes, are popular, a lot of younger singers remake old music.
To conclude, anyone cannot overlook the power of the music. Music can bring a positive effect to not only each cultures but also different ages.
