Average distance in miles traveled per person per year, by mode of travel
The given table show an average distance traveled by mode of travel in England in two years, 1985 and 2000. It contains seven individual sections.
The most choosed mode was car in both year, which indicates the highest number of each year and even grown in 150 per cent respectively, 3,199 in 1985 and 4,806 in 2000. The least choosed mode was Taxi in 1985, however, it bicycle was the least choosed one in 2000 by only one mile behind.
Four categories, except car and including ‘other’ section, show increased distance and other three categories show decreased distance. Some people say that Ebooks and modern technology will totally replace traditional newspaper and magazines to what extent do you agree or disagree.
Reading always has been essntial throughout the human history and will be important for carious reasons, such as preserving literature, teaching about cosmetic law, etc. The evolution of reading material has been so obvious and natural from the shell or turtle to digital devices in these days, and some people think that advanced technologies like Ebooks will become total replacement of orthodox methods including newspaper and magazines. However, I have huge doubt to that statement and strongly disagree with their assumption to our future.
The first and fundamental reason is we, human beings, are animals of habits. After hundreds and thousands of years had passed, some nations and tribes still use old fashioned way of providing information, like the one we easily think that it must be displayed in museum. Considering that, which is an actual fact, assuring modern technology will ‘totally’ replace traditional ways is not convincing.
Second reason is as much as there are readers who prefer Ebooks and using start phones to read to paper, there are always be other parties who like to enjoy touching paper itself, smelling the scent of old or new books, hearing the sound that the thin page of newspaper makes, and even folding a small piece of corner of the magazines go remember that page. We can not underestimate the power of experience that can earned from traditional newspaper and magazines.
Finally, and also simply, Ebooks are bad for eyes. Because of the start phones and digital screens, the age that children take their first glasses is going lower and lower. We can invent other devices that could be a assistance to our eyesight or develop new ways of surgery that might protect eyes, nevertheless, every person have only one eye for each sides and I am sure that people like to keep it that way.
To conclude, even Ebooks and modern technology has taking some part of reading market, there is absolutely no way that it can totally replace traditional reading materials. (332 words)
그리고 질문이 있는데, task 2 본문 두번째 문단에서 첫 줄이 너무 길어서 중간에 끊으려고 vice versa 나 it could go counterclockwise를 사용해보려 했는데 '~to read to paper, people can think vice versa' 정도로 써도 괜찮은가요? 이렇게 쓰는 거나 저렇게 쓰는 거나 둘 다 확신이 없네요...
항상 감사드립니다.
