Some people think that the government is wasting money on the arts and this money could be better spent elsewhere.
To what extent do you agree or disagree.
Art is an inevitable part of our life since we are interact with them frequently. We can easily find some statues are installed in the public or we can see paintings are painted in the wall. While they are in the street where many people are walk by, it hard to see someone who taking pictures with those things. So do I. I've never took pictures of them and even I notice that something was in the street after stroll a street several times. This made me to think that the government is wasting money on arts and they should spend money to others than arts.
The first reason is that, the arts have no significant positive effect to the public. For example, if a huge statue is standing on the corner of a street. Then most people are just sitting on there and someone even leave a trash behind them. I have seen many trashes are tumble from the statue and go away along the street. If there were nothing on the street, people would probably carry a trash with them.
Second, when there are some art exhibition held by government or supported by, few people who interested in it are visit there. This could lead the host cannot earn enough profits. It's unfair to cease or reduce investment on the arts because they have few supporting people, but if the government spend money on elsewhere, such as the public transportation, then the majority of people can gain benefits from them.
For those reasons I agree that the government is wasting money on the arts.
