The maps illustrate the transformation of Grange Park, which was opened in 1920.
Overall, a comparison of the two maps reveals a complete improvement from less entertaining facilities to a more leisured area.
In the year 1920, a fountain was placed in the middle of the park, there were two entrances above the fountain and underneath of it. However, the fountain has been replaced by a rose garden with seats in every direction. On the left side of the rose garden, now it has an amphitheatre for concerts but it used to stage for musicians in 1920. Over the amphitheatre, there is an another rose garden, it still remains the same spot as 1920. On the right side of the map, there was a pond for water plants in 1920, but a children’s play area is established in the pond area at now. Next to the children’s play facility, a cafe is structured near to the Arnold Avenue entrance. Below the cafe and play area, now it has a water feature but in 1920, a glasshouse was located in the position. In addition, at present, there is an entrance to an underground car part right along with the water feature.
