The chart below shows the proportion of complaints on workplace by gender in Germany in 2001.
Overall, there was a difference tendency of portion by sex for most types of complains.
Firstly, excessive noise and annoying co-workers accounted nearly quarter of the total amount of complaints. The figures were 23% and 21.5%, respectively. It is noteworthy that the sexual proportion for each category was different. Although the rates of men and women who claimed excessive noise were 20% and 26%, the figure of men who complained annoying co-workers was four times of that of women.
Moreover, the different portion by gender is also observed in other categories. Specifically, women claimed more often than men on the lack of technical support, lack of privacy and sexual harassment. Even the rates of women of three parts were between 10% to 21%, the proportion of men who struggled because of them were always under 9%. On the other hand, men complained three times more frequently about the relationship with the line manager. Unlike most categories, there was little people who have complaints and little difference of sexual proportion on temperature.
