In recent years, importing food from other countries has become a common trend. Even though people cook themselves, the food ingredients are imported. Personally, I believe that this tendency could lead to some negative situations in the home country.
On the one hand, every year, there are a lot of issues about the sanitation of imported food. To elaborate, imported food can escape a meticulous food examination because the import companies and governments can not afford to check the food manufacturing sanitation every time rather than national-made food. For instance, a lot of restaurants in Korea use imported Kimchi from China, but the environment of Kimchi production in China was horrible. According to the video of Kimchi manufacturing in China, numerous rats could be found in the Kimchi ingredients.
It is true that if production and use are passed off in a home country, the country can gain a lot of positive effects. In fact, in order to produce food, plenty of people are required. For example, people can work in many areas which are related to food production, namely farms, transportations, plants, markets, and so on. This effect also can be a great solution for unemployed people to find their job and live stable lives. As a result, this tendency might lead to domestic economy improvement.
In conclusion, although some advantages may be found from food importing, I believe that home manufactured food can be used without anxiety about food hygiene and give positive results to a lot of local people.
