Q. Global environmental issues are the responsibility of richer nations, not poorer ones. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
There is no debate that humans are rapidly destroying the planet that we rely on to survive. I believe that nations who gained their prosperity through exploiting the environment should take more responsibility than the rest of nations.
Richer nations now. are generally the ones who were the first to industrialize. As excessive utilization of numerous natural resources, like oil and coal, to produce things, it became the main reason to create air pollution and destroyed a lot of places on earth. For example, there are a lot of factors located in China and the smoke from there seriously polluted the air. Now, China is recognized to be the world's biggest polluter and it goes to show that places would become more developed and their pollution levels would be upward.
Then again, the countries with a lot of money try to fix the world's environmental problems should provide funding for environmental protection as they have the ability and their wealth comes from destroying what we all depend on. Since Australia started to clean up the marine debris, marine pollution and ecosystem in the world have been improving and other countries also became involved to join their activities.
Overall, the best way to help the environment is for everyone to take care of it. However, countries that have more money and the most power must lead the way in preserving the environment for everyone.
