Some students decide early in life to pursue vocational careers that involve cooking or baking. For them, it is better to study their chosen occupations in high school rather than regular subjects. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is true that high schools should offer their students a well-rounded education comprising a wide range of subjects. However, I concur with the idea that schools should prepare students for specific occupations if they decide on their career early in life. This is because such an education would help them succeed in their future jobs and increase the attendance rate in schools.
In my opinion, a specialized curriculum would definitely contribute to students' future jobs. If students receive an education that supports them prepare for their career life after graduating from high school, they can develop the skills of professional and practical leading to faster success in their future. For example, recently there are many vocational high schools which are keen to provide professional training and education to students in special industries such as hospitality or aircraft. Students who already decide the industry of their careers can have an intense education about it and spend more time to focus on developing the proper skills for their future jobs. The early practice and experience by studying in high school, it is really productive and practical to be ready for a future plan in their career life.
Also, providing a career-focused curriculum would be more attractive to students and make them more motivated to attend schools regularly. It means the students' attendance rate will be increased and they will actively take part in their class. According to the research from the Ministry of Education in Korea, the average of attendance rate in vocational high schools experienced higher than in general high schools and students' satisfaction of their performance in schools also showed the similar results. From the results in this poll, students prefer to focus on studying and spending their school life where they could get an education what they are willing to study.
In conclusion, schools need to arrange for the practical subjects due to preparing students to succeed in their career life and increasing the students' attendance rate. By following these reasons, I believe that vocational high schools offering a specialized subject for student's career in future would outweigh general high school which provide the regular subjects.
