The charts give information about three
types of unhealthy nutrients in four different meals in the USA. Overall,
sodium and saturated fat consumption followed similar patterns. On the other
hand, added sugar had the opposite consumption patterns.
The highest proportion in both sodium and
saturated fat were dinner, it accounted for 43%, 37% respectively. this was
followed by lunch with 29% sodium and 26% saturated fat. The levels of the
sodium were same for breakfast and snacks (14%). While, Americans consumed more
fat for snacks (21%) than for breakfast (16%).
Unlike the other two nutrients, the highest
proportion of four typical meals in sugar was snacks, which was 42%. The next
highest was dinner at 23%. The percentage of the other typical meals was quite
similar, lunch was at 19%, breakfast at 16%. Breakfast was accounted for the
lowest percentage. When they eat breakfast, Americans consumed the smallest
added sugar among four typical meals.
