Nowadays, some countries recommend to young people to travel overseas or working in the field for a 1 year before, entrance to the university. There are both merits and demerits for this policy. In this essay, I will write my own opinion why they are positive and negative influence on young people.
Some independent young people try to work in the field for a year to learn how real society works before entering college. If young people work in the company or restaurant and etc, they can learn faster than other young people about the value of money and time. This 1-year experience is not just a holiday period, for these experience after they graduating from university and working in the field, they can hold their consistency and enthusiasm how to work perfectly. However, there is also a negative thing. Unlike the money earned early from part-time jobs in high school, the money earned from full-time jobs in the field causes young people to no longer feel the need to enter college and study and this eventually occurs a lack of knowledge.
Young people who seek freedom travel to many countries for a year before entering college. In this experience, they can learn about other countries cultures and traditional music and these factors sever as an opportunity to teach them what their real dreams are and also as a driving force for them to see the world with a broader view after graduation from college. However, in contrast, if they use this duration for a deviation, they can not escape from the negative situations. When they waste a 1-year, students who study in the university, they learn a lot of knowledge which related to their major and this mean, they have a privilege to work in the field to 1 year faster.
In conclusion, it is true that there are advantages and disadvantages. However, I opine that there are more benefits when young people travel the world and learn various things which universities can not teach those things.
