Some people believe advertising is not necessary under the condition that a product is good enough to satisfy customer needs. People may buy it without any advertising. However, I believe people still need advertising to buy good products because it lets customers know the products exist and saves their time.

It's hard to expect the product to be famous by going viral. For example, many automobile companies advertise their new cars through lots of channels such as TV and the Internet to notify potential customers. If the customers don't know about the new products, they are likely to make a decision for the purchase of their cars in their existing thoughts. It shows that ads are still necessary to inform customers about the new products released.
Moreover, commercials can save customers' time searching for the information on what they want to buy. To make a good purchase decision, customers should get the information about several products and compare them and it's time consuming if they search for it on the company's website. For instance, these days, many e-commerce companies show the discounted products on the one page which is one of the advertising on their mobile application to make customers convenient to compare the products and by doing so, customers don't need to figure out which product is discounted by clicking lots of pages.
To sum up, commercials are important to inform people about the new project release and save customers time making decisions for purchases. Therefore, advertising is still a necessary activity in business even if a product is good enough to make people buy it. |
