It is argued that the family has impacts on any child’s
development mentally and physically, but the influences from outside the home
play a more crucial role in his life. I believe that the family has more
impacts on any child’s development when he is still at an early stage of
development whereas outside factors in his social life play a bigger role in
their later development once he goes to school.
Firstly, when a child is still too young to go to school, he
spends more time with his parents. As a result, it is his parents that decide
what kind of activities he does and what language he speaks. For example, a kid
whose parents are strict with screen time is more likely to do many other activities
rather than much screen time at home. Additionally, if a kid is raised in a bilingual
home, he will be speaking two languages instead of one in the future.
On the other hand, as he goes to school, outside factors
will be more critical in his development because he will spend more time with
his friends or his teachers outside the home. He will probably try to follow
what his friends decide to do. For
instance, many kids start learning cursing words once they go to school and
hang out with their peers.
In conclusion, what influences a child depends on his stages
of development. When he is young, he is influenced more by the family whereas
outside factors have more impacts on his development once he goes to school. |
