This bar graph illustrates the amount of UK telephone calls with an interval of 1 year, categorizing into 3 types (Local – fixed line, National and international– fixed line, all types of mobile calls).
As clearly seen from the chart, the fixed line local calls are the most preferred way of communication in Great Britain throughout the research period. While the amount of locally made calls shows downward trend after it reaches highest pick in 1999, the other two types of telephone calls increase constantly since 1995. Especially the national and international calls, which were nearly half of the locally made calls, almost caught up with the local ones by exceeding 60 billion calls.
It’s quite notable that the minutes of mobile calls keep it's growth from the beginning of the chart until the end of it. When it comes to the increased amount, the mobile calls are almost doubled to compare with it in 1995.
Overall, the local calls seem fluctuated by showing steady increasing tendency from 1995 to 1999 while started to decrease from 1999 to 2002. On the other hand, both of the national & international calls and the mobile calls rose constantly and the latter’s upward trend was sharp in particular. |
