Criminal trials televised have been seen on many television programmes, and anyone in the public can watch the judicial proceedings outside of law courts. Some people think that this broadcasting can influence on them in a positive way, but I believe that publicly showing the processes can harm the society, and will discuss the reasons in this essay.
Firstly, watching criminal proceedings can be harmful because they give people so many details of serious crimes. Especially children are likely to imitate some violent behaviours on television that might make them in trouble in the future because they can easily learn from the visual images. Also, they may know that the governmental laws and regulations are not reliable, and there are possibilities that those blind spots
Also, ciriminals (dhll님이 철자 오류 내신 거 처음 보는 것 같습니다.) trials on television might not help media work for the general public. As broadcasting takes a certain amount of money from the regular watchers, they might have to unnecessarily pay extra money for watching the unnecessary programmes. The broadcasting stations have responsibilities to show contents that most consumers want, and the crimes are probably not the one because it is not the sort that can regularly be consumed by people.
To conclude, televising criminal trials can have more disadvantages than advantages. Most people can watch them not because they want to but because they are shown, and this can be unwanted experience for some people and does not even suggest the right way to consume contents but rather pollutes the world of media. |
