Many students go overseas, especially advanced countries, for university study on the modern society. It is not difficult compared to the past so more and more students desire to go overseas for study. However, even though they go nearby countries of same continent, they will experience the culture shock and many difficulties such as language problem. Despite of the difficulties, there are many benefits when they study in other countries.
First of all, students can experience new things that they can not experience in their countries. Some people feel pressure to adapt the new environment but they can extend their knowledge if they overcome the hard. They can make foreigner classmates and learn new things by hanging out with them. What they can learn by hanging out with friends from other countries and overcoming the problems is valuable resources that they can not through books.
Meanwhile, studying in the developed countries is much better for students who want to study the specific fields than staying in their countries. For example, if someone want to study aerospace, it is better to study in USA rather than Korea. USA has more advanced technology and industry is larger than Korea. Thus, for some students who study special fields, it is a better choice to study in the countries that have advanced culture.
As a result, I think that just staying home, avoiding the difficulties, is stupid for young students. What young people can learn and experience when they go overseas for study is more important than worrying about the problems that they have to encounter and overcome. They can learn a lot of things and the hard period during staying in other countries will be helpful to their future. |
