You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. The illustrations show how chocolate is produced. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main
features and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words. Task 1 The diagram illustrates how chocolate is manufactured from cacao pods. Overall, it is clear that there are 10 distinct stages in chocolate production from collecting red ripen cacao pods, which are grown in South America, Africa, and Indonesia, to pressing the inner seeds which produces liquid chocolate. Looking at the diagram more closely, one can see that yielded red cacao pods are sliced open, in which white cocoa beans are collected and fermented. Once the fermentation procedure is completed they are dehydrated under the solar light. Following this, dried beans are packed into large sacks to be transported to the factory by train or truck. Once they have arrived at the factory the beans are roasted at 350 degree Celsius prior to the outer shells are peeled beans are crushed in a spinning drum. The final stage is pressing the liquid out of the beans and that’s chocolate liquid, as we know it. | ||||||||||||||||
