Overall, it is clear that the number of elderly people in the USA usually spent time watching TV accounted for high rates, whereas the elderly they rarely visit the theatre for 30years.
Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that most older people in the USA prefer to watch TV the most and there was little change in its rates numbers around 65% for 30 years. In contrast, hiking was not really popular to old people at 20% in the 1980s, but the figure surged to 80% between 1990s and 2010s and became the most popular activity to older people. In terms of reading, 30% percent of elderly people were keen on reading at the beginning of the period, however the figure dropped to 20% in the 2000s and then soared to 60% in the 2010s. While the proportion of surfing the Internet was on the lower end around 5% in the 1980s, this increased steadily to 15%, but suddenly showed a growth to 60%. Lastly, 50% percent of people visited the cinema in the 1980s, however the ratio experienced a decline to 30% in the 1990s. After that the figure rose slightly to 40% and remained constant at the end of years.
