question>
The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emission per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
answer>
The chart illustrates the average emission of carbon dioxide per person in four different countries from 1967 to 2007.
The most noticeable feature was that in the United Kindom people produced the highest amount of carbon dioxide during the period. From 1967 to 1977, while the United Kindom remained relatively the same, other countries climbed up significantly. After 1977, although its' emissions in Italy and Portugal increased steadily, Sweden's emissions dropped significantly from more than 10 metric tones in 1977 to about 7 metric tones in 1987.
It is also interesting that Italy and Portugal went up during all the researched period, however United Kindom and Sweden decreased in carbon dioxide productions. In 2007, Sweden and Portugal have the same amount of carbon dioxide emissions at about 5.5 metric tones. The features of Sweden's emission showed notable fluctuations over the period from more than 10 metric tones to around 5.5 metric tones.
In conclusion, as can be seen from the chart, although there were some fluctuations bewteen 1967 and 2007. Italy and Portugal showed the increased patterns, while the United Kingdom and Sweden presented the downfall trends.
