It is often argued that prison is the general idea to solve crimes in the most countries, whereas providing education to criminals is suggested as a better solution. I completely agree with this opinion and think that educating criminals would be a more effective way to prevent the greater crime. First of all, in terms of money efficiency, expenditure would be spent more wisely on educating and supporting homeless people and low-income families rather than maintaining prisons. It is because, when people are struggling to survive because of the lack of money, they have more possibility to become a robber or a burglar since even when they are caught, they will be at least guaranteed food and shelter in prison prisons. In addition, educating people can eventually reduce the crime rates. For example, when people are educated since they are young, they are more likely to not conduct a crime since they have gained the sympathy. Moreover, although even if a prisoner is released from prison, if they are not realised what they have done wrong, they could break the law again. To illustrate, when prisoners are released from prison without learning about the law and morality, they are still not able to feel guiltiness, thus, they could commit a crime again. Additionally, by teaching people in order to get a job would minimise the crime rates. In detail, when people have a job and a sufficient income, they are less likely to steal or rob robe a bank to become a lucre. In conclusion, I strongly believe the education of citizens has more possibility to decrease crime level since it could reduce the motivation of committing a crime from the insufficient amount of money for living.
